The point where the whole Dragon Army is separated is tragic. Ender no longer has his best man at his side and also has to deal with what happened to Bonzo. Ender graduated and also had to go directly to Command School. Little does Ender know he will be with friends at Command School.

Colonel Graff
Colonel Graff is quite the interesting figure. He is acting like, and I mean like, a father to Ender. He takes Ender to Battle School and tells him what they (the I.F.) expect of him.
Graff is also quite the traitor. When reading the dialog between him and Anderson, it shows what torture they want to put Ender through. Pay attention to the dialog. It has helpful hints at what is to come.

Ender, Valentine, and Peter
These are the names of the Wiggin children.
Ender is the Third Wiggin child. Thirds are supposed to be the wonder kids and Ender plays the role very well.
Valentine is the second child and the pacifist.
Peter is the oldest and the one that leaves things to violence.
Ender is the very special case. He was born after the rule had passed that families were only supposed to have two children and was only able to be born if the parents had signed certain paperwork. Ender also had the Monitor for a longer period of time then Peter and Valentine. Ender is also the combination of both Valentine and Peter. He is a pacifist and only uses violence, not like Peter, for self defense. Although the end result for Ender is killing the other kids who attack him.
Oh, by the way Ender's real name is Andrew (probably already knew that though.)
Valentine and Peter are polar opposites. As they grow up without Ender they create personas that allow them to post on the Net and bring up good points of how the world will turn out. There is war coming...

Ender and the relation to Halo
As far as I can tell, Ender's Game has an existing connection to the video game series Halo. There is the main character, Ender in this case, that is alone and isolated and has to deal with saving the planet Earth. In Halo, Master Chief also has to save the Earth from the Covenant, a species of aliens planning to take over the Earth and at an extent, the entire universe.
Furthermore, Ender relates to Master Chief because of the fact that they are very similar in how they act and think. Ender has the mind of a genius and so does Chief. Both of them were accepted into military projects at a very early age. That makes them partially isolated with the rest of the world.
Unlike Ender, Chief is genetically enhanced. He has lived through so much torture and isolation. Chief is the main Spartan of just about every mission he takes part of until the rest of his "family" is killed off. He is the remaining Spartan left alive from the original batch of Spartans.
